How Can You Help?
A Message from Michele and the Campaign
It’s hard to imagine the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene - we all see the pictures and videos but there is so much we don’t see - the loss of life and the impact on families, children who’ve lost their homes, their schools. Thousands are without communication, medication, electricity, food and clean drinking water.
We need Prayer now more than ever.
It’s time to put politics aside and pull together to help our community.
I have directed key staff and campaign volunteers to shift their focus to help wherever they can.
We are communicating with multiple relief efforts and organizations to try and direct aid where it is most needed.
Please see below and support these efforts as you are able.
Right now North Carolinians are in a crisis situation. We must all do everything we can to help with immediate needs. But recovery will be a very long process. Many schools are impacted. Thousands of students, teachers and staff. We are already discussing recovery needs in the impacted areas and are dedicated to the long-term recovery. We will continue to be where we are needed.

U.S. DISASTER RELIEF

We often stay behind after our initial response to rebuild or restore houses for needy families.

Baptists on a Mission
9/29/2024: Baptists on Mission is responding in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in the mountains of western North Carolina. We’ve set up feeding units at First Baptist Boone and Biltmore Baptist in Arden. In addition, we’re setting up recovery sites in Boone, Spruce Pine, Hendersonville and Marion. Heavy rains from the storm caused massive flooding that washed out roads, destroyed homes and businesses, and knocked out power and phone service in much of the region.
Volunteers are needed in all areas, which include: feeding; shower and laundry; chain saw teams; tarping roofs; mudding and tearing out homes; and more. You don’t need to be trained to serve with some of these opportunities.
You can sign up to volunteer as well as give financially to support the relief efforts by clicking the buttons on this page. All financial gifts go directly to assist those impacted by the storm.
Cross Assembly
Cross Assembly of Raleigh, is adopting Crossroads Assembly in Asheville to assist with the relief and recovery efforts. The most critical need right now is water. We will be taking the first truckload of relief supplies to Asheville on Thursday morning. and another over the weekend. A team will be going to assess the situation in order to coordinate teams going to assist.
